लोग भले ही हिमालय के ट्रैकर बन कर आते हों लेकिन हिमालय में आने की तमीज और सावधानी अभी नहीं सीखी, यहां आने वाले तीर्थयात्री और पर्यटक अपने साथ दुनिया भर का नान डिग्रीडबल अजैविक कूड़ा लेकर आते हैं और यहीं हिमालय में ही छोड़ चले जाते हैं, जिससे हिमालय का सारा पारिस्थितिकीय संतुलन खराब हो रहा है। बद्रीनाथ से आगे या गोविंदघाट से हेमकुंड की तरफ या फूलों की घाटी में आने वाले पर्यटकों की सख्ती के साथ चैकिंग होनी चाहिए और किसी भी तरह का प्लास्टिक कचरा और केमिकल उनके पास नहीं होना चाहिए। इस बार भी जो पर्यटक सतोपंथ स्वर्गारोहिणी गए वे कई कट्टे कूड़ा और प्लास्टिक वहां छोड़ आए, इसी को देखते हुए कुछ समर्पित लोगों ने Glacier ग्लेशियर बचाने की मुहिम 10 दिनों में उठाया बदरिनाथ सर्वगारोहिनी मार्ग का सारा अजैविक कूड़ा पहुचाया जोशीमठ, पंहुचाया।

पर्यावरण वाहिनी भारत सरकार के पूर्व जिला अध्यक्ष डॉ हरीश मैखुरी ने कहा है कि उच्च हिमालई क्षेत्रों में आने वाले लोगों को निश्चित रूप से हिमालय की संवेदनशीलता को समझना चाहिए और अपने साथ किसी भी तरह के प्लास्टिक कचरे को इस उच्च हिमालई क्षेत्र में नहीं छोड़ना चाहिए उन्होंने संबंधित विभागों से अनुरोध किया कि हिमालय में कूड़ा छोड़ने वाले यात्रियों को और पर्यटकों को अर्थदंड लगाना चाहिए।
